A Mexican coffee bar reached out to me to create a brand mascot that could live both online and in their physical presence. The café’s concept is a relaxed, fun space aimed primarily at Gen Z, with an established identity based on vibrant colors.
The brand chose a dog mascot to symbolize friendship beyond prejudice. My process began with sketch explorations—different dog silhouettes, breeds, and outfits—until we arrived at the final sketch, which I translated into clean vector art.
Next, the mascot was integrated into a secondary logo. I proposed a half-body pose adaptable to square or circular compositions, ensuring it could be used seamlessly across brand applications.
As the character grew in recognition, the café expanded its role into apparel design.
I created three graphic proposals:
A typography-focused design
A concept highlighting the connection between the barista and the customer
A comic-strip illustration narrating the artisanal coffee process
This project showcases how a single illustration can evolve into a versatile visual system, reinforcing a brand’s identity while engaging its audience across logos, social media, and merchandise.
